QUALITY CONTROL
Quality is the match between an approved requirement and the delivered pack.
The useful question is not whether quality is important. It is what will be checked, against which reference, at which stage.
Incoming material
Supplier, grade, thickness and project-required documentation are checked against the purchase specification.
First article
Cavity fit, trim, appearance and critical dimensions are reviewed before normal production continues.
In-process checks
Forming consistency, material distribution, trim position, nesting or stacking and visible defects are monitored.
Final inspection
Sampling level and acceptance criteria are defined for the order; finished packaging is checked before packing.
Corrective action
Nonconformity is contained, reviewed and dispositioned against the agreed specification before release.
